The Zara Charitable Foundation recently awarded two $1000 scholarships to Alicia Majid and Lorraine Benn, two graduating seniors at York Early College Academy in Jamaica Queens. Lorraine wants to become a doctor and Alicia wants to have a career in public service. Both students graduated with an A average. The Foundation donated a $42,000 student counseling center to the academy last year.
