Congratulations to the Zara cricket team, the Zara Lions, for its spectacular victory against the Giants in the 2019 Lionel Bedessee tournament. Lions batted first. We made a mammoth total of 296 for 7. Giants replied with 65, all out.

The sun was out. The grass was green. The children, smiling! We handed out gorgeous, top-of-the-range backpacks filled to the brim with school supplies to precious little boys and girls . We served cold beverages, hot plates, snow cones and cotton candy. Everyone had a blast!…
